Contest Rules

Please remember, this is supposed to be about fun and Trojan camaraderie.
There are no entry fees.
Every participant will receive 20,000 betting units.
You must bet a minimum of 1 game and 1,000 units each week. The exception to this rule is Week 0 (games played on August 26th) where you do not need to make a wager.
There will be a limited number of games to choose from each week.
The contest ends on December 4, 2023.
I will post the point spread for each week’s games on Monday
All wagers must be received by Friday at noon PT. (Exact date will posted weekly)
Wagers must be posted on the TDB (preferred) or they can be emailed to: john@trojandailyblog.com.
I will review each wager to make sure that it was correctly placed. I will then respond to your entries to let you know that they have been accepted by liking your wager comment.
If you do not see your wager acknowledgement please contact me as soon as possible by posting a comment on the blog prior to the first game you have wagered on.
If a game is cancelled or moved to another date, then that game will not be counted as a wager (no action).
Winning wagers will be paid as ‘even money’, for example; if you bet 1,000 units, you will win 1,000 units.
The winner will be determined by who has the most betting units in their account at the end of the contest.
I will keep track of everyone’s account and this accounting will be posted on TDB on Monday of each week of the contest. Please review my figures. If you think that a mistake has been made you must contact me by 9pm on the Monday that the results were posted, otherwise these numbers will be considered official.
First Prize is: 150.00
Second Prize is: 75.00
Third Prize is: 25.00
If two people end up in first place, then the first and second prize will be added together and that amount will be split between the two winners.
I will handle all disputes and my decision will be final.
Anyone can be removed from the contest for exhibiting poor sportsmanship, as determined by me.
By making wagers on the games you acknowledge you agree to these rules.

Thanks illinois. If it ok with John, I’ll switch my bet to the over 67.5 points on the Ore/Wash game for 21,000. If it’s too late, no problem.

Please allow me to change the topic here. Can anyone share why LR appears to not favor Malachi Nelson? LR is reportedly seeking out another outside 5 star “plug and play” QB. Is this his “tell” that we are about to suffer thru the same 2023 horror show? The Athletic just released an interview with LR. It read like a “puff” piece in that LR was not pinned down about next years recruiting class. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Indeed, it was total Lincoln Riley puff piece interview, basically comprised of LR’s self-serving answers, excuses, and interpretations. LR built up some great cred at OU and in year 1 at USC. I guess that’s why he can get away with ridiculous summarization statements like — “You could take three or four plays from the whole 2023 season and I can show you a 10-win team.” Ya, sure Lincoln. That’s a delusional, laughable defense of the 2023 USC season if there ever was one. The Athletic’s Antonio Morales question — Now that you’ve had three or four days to digest… Read more »

What no more early retirement talk or wanting summers off like the NFL guys!
Will give LR credit for one thing, despite this puke inducing horse crap D, the team didn’t quit until taking that belly flop final game vs UCLA.
Guy has a lot to prove now.

Both ND (48-20) and UCLA (38-20) beat the literal crap out of lifeless, weak USC. I don’t see how we should be giving LR any credit whatsoever for those wipe-outs. LR strikes me as a coach who didn’t fully appreciate those rivalries in 2023. I know it sounds ridiculous to make such a charge, but I dare you to watch replays of the games (if you have the stomach), and come to a different conclusion. I bet LR will take a different approach to both the ND and UCLA games next season. If he doesn’t, USC will get slapped down… Read more »

“Getting NIL to a (better) place, where it was not in a good place when we got here.”
For 2024 per 247, USC has 18 hard commits, no 5*s, and nine 4*s. Of the 4*s, there is one O Lineman and one edge rusher. Sounds like USC NIL is a big nothing burger! USC NIL should be the best in the country with the LA market!

USC’s coaching stunk big-time in 2023, led by Lincoln Riley’s crap head coaching job.

LR himself was a massive nothing burger in 2023. Hopefully, he gets his act together because USC football needs a lot more fixing than just NIL improvement.

So true, upgrades in the staff are sorely needed as well, the entire D, O Line coach and S/C coach. But if USC is not competitive with guaranteed NIL deals they will not get 5* linemen. It’s the two sides of the recruiting coin.

Whatever LR says for print never amounts to much, unfortunately. The truth is, he doesn’t have much to defend about USC football nowadays. USC’s not even a top-30 team, even with an otherwordly QB like Caleb Williams.

We’ll all see how LR’s USC football rehab plans work out when USC begins the season against LSU in 2024.

Let me know if you ever figure out what a “major genius” is D.D.S. Hopefully laughable if nothing else.

Who knows where Nelson’s head and skill level are at. He was already an NIL millionaire in HS. Maybe his motivation is waning. Maybe LR is making sure he has a plan B for QB.

Perhaps he is making sure Nelson is on his toes and is going to be ready. If LR brings in another QB it will reflect poorly on his ability to judge player talent.

Utah, yep not until USC builds a stout defense and bruising O-line. My suggestion is consult with PC on who he thinks can accomplish that and hire that coach no matter the cost. Don’t waste our time Jen Cohen leaving it up to LR. He doesn’t know enough about defense.

I agree with you Jamaica. When USC was beating Michigan and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl back in the day, SC had a great O-Line with guys like Anthony Munoz and Brad Budde. The Defense was solid with great D-Line and Linebacker play. Sometimes I wonder if LR even knows how to spell Defense. In my opinion, he’s like Paul Hackett. Both know offense but are lousy Head Coaches. I hope the next USC HC is defensive minded.
