Talented Trojans Lead All-Pac-12 Preseason Team Selections
Seven of these well-regarded 10 Trojans have come to USC after Lincoln Riley became HC (QB Caleb Williams, WR Dorian Singer, OL Jarrett Kingston, LB Mason Cobb, LB Eric Gentry, P Eric Czaplicki and AP/ST Raleek Brown).
Both ORE and UCLA come in surprisingly low with only 3-4 players each, like routine bottom feeders ARIZ and CAL.
1 USC: 10
2 UTAH: 8
3 OSU: 7
4 UW: 7
5 WSU: 4
6 ORE: 4
7 ARIZ: 3
8 CAL: 3
9 UCLA: 3
10 CU: 2
11 STAN: 2
12 ASU: 0
__________
I watched George K’s segment and the USC segment from media day. I couldn’t help but think that most of the praises GK had for Pac12 football were due to USC. My other thought was that CW looked a bit bored with the whole thing. I would be bored too spending a couple days with reporters asking the same dumb questions knowing they are going to get some cliche answer or no real answer at all.
All true.
I’ll be glad when interviewers, players, coaches and everyone else in the building stop using the massively overworked word “culture” in every other sentence.
Mason Cobb Brought To Tears After Being Asked to Rep USC On Media Day 247Sports — OKS transfer Cobb came to USC in Dec. He’s very honored to be picked as the Trojans’ rep after such a brief time in L.A. “It meant a lot,” Cobb said. “One of my goals coming here was to attend media day and be the voice of the defense. When Lincoln reached out to me, it was surreal. It brought me to tears. This was something that I’ve worked for my whole life. This is a big deal for the coaches to put me… Read more »
USC Photos from the Pac-12 Media Day
As expected, Texas RB Taylor Tatum has picked the Sooners over USC.
Bad days for STAN, to the max. So much for being a bastion of anything but unworthiness. It’s not just the football team that is pitiful.
Not only has the President of STAN, Marc Tessier-Lavigne, been forced to resign, but so has Tirien Steinbach, the Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at STAN Law School, four months after she brazenly shouted down a federal judge who was giving a lecture at the school.
Tirien Steinbach is finally out of a job
Good riddance to all the lefties that think free speech only applies to them. As far as trouble at Furd, couldn’t happen to a better place.
‘Furd is dead last!
It is going to be in interesting fall, especially on the defensive line. Who will start, and who will come in and do a better job. This season should be exciting in that regard. The DL and LB positions have a lot of competition, not to mention the DB’s. Only person everyone can agree on in the backfield is Bullock.
My guess is Domani, Ceyair, Bullock, and Shaw. Roland Wallace will be nickel.
covington, Jaylin, and Max get heavy snaps.
Off to Las Vegas for PAC 12 frivolity, I guess the kommissioner has friends there? I am surprised he has recruited UNLV for a replacement. Or maybe an announcement will be made?
Trouble in Palo Alto
Yahoo — The president of STAN for seven years said Wednesday he is resigning, citing an independent review that cleared him of fraudulent misconduct but found serious flaws in some papers he authored.
Marc Tessier-Lavigne said in a statement to students and staff that he would step down on Aug. 31.
The board named Richard Saller, a classics professor, as interim president starting Sept. 1, said board chair Jerry Yang.

Well, Dr. Two-Surnames is Canadian….
I know JuJu Smith-Schuster ain’t no Canadian
I think the uber-successful days of the Pats and Belichick have been irrevocably over ever since Tom Brady flew the coop for another Super Bowl win…and then a divorce.
Belichick sure suffered a big hit to his all-time greatest label. I’m not buying that thinking anymore, personally.
USC is living proof of how much an awesome QB can do for your team.
Being a big JuJu (now #7) fan, I have huge hopes for his positive effect on the now-woeful Pats.
I wasn’t ripping the double-load of surnames–I didn’t want to look up how to spell Dr. Cheater’s name. Canadians are always a sorry lot….😄
