USC grads Rick Caruso (who played such a key role as USC BOT Chairman in cleaning up USC post-Max Nikias, and also in bringing aboard Lincoln Riley) and Karen Bass (USC’s 2019 commencement speaker) easily finished one-two in the L.A. Mayor’s race. Who will win in November? USC is a victor in L.A.’s better future either way.

Further connection between USC and the Mayoral race: Did you know that the original USC Dental School was off-campus? Do you know where it was? Well, they had to tear down the old dental school to build the iconic LA City Hall. This occurred after my maternal grandpa graduated from USC Dental in 1916. I went to USC Dental for some work done when I was a student and received excellent care. I don’t think I’ve ever had a dentist who didn’t go to USC.
Yes, I think Caruso will win it. At least I sure hope so.
The Physical Therapy Program, Dept. of Pathokinesiology, was located at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey. They had our classrooms and labs in old polio wards not deemed earthquake safe for patients! They are now in great facilities on the Med Campus within the School of Dentistry.
