Finally! After six seasons as a finalist, Tony Boselli was elected to the Hall of Fame (362 total members) and becomes the first Jaguars player heading to Canton.

I still can’t believe they won that game without Mobley. The TO. on Max when he botched that dunk was a stupid call by a stupid PAC 12 ref, but they still managed to overcome.
I believe that is 5 in a row over ucla. I know some on this board want Enfield to leave. I really don’t understand why.
If PAC-12 commissioner is telling the PAC-12 schools to increase the support in their football programs, he is not the only one. ACC commissioner Jim Phillips is doing the same and is publicizing it. Is Kliavkoff putting that kind of pressure on his Universities? I haven’t seen or read it. But he should towards the worst offender in football program support among the Power 5. If an ESPN article is accurate, the ND AD was trying to swindle conferences to speed up accepting a 12-team playoff in a presentation at a major CFB conference by pushing it with little or… Read more »
I know Enfield has some flaws as a coach. But you look at the sustained success he has built, which for USC is unprecedented. He has avoided recruiting knuckleheads. I don’t see how any BB fan of the school could be so neutral a about him leaving. I for one wants him to stay, but wouldn’t be surprised if he left.
I’d say Saturday is a big day for Enfield, who has feasted on the little gutties. But If USC keeps losing, they aren’t going far in the NCAAs, that’s for sure.
If Enfield really wants to be at Maryland instead of USC, how much good is he to the Trojans then?
OU has 11 players going to the combine. Another feather in Riley’s cap, proof again that we got a good one and players that don’t come to USC are going to miss out.
Lots of chatter out there about Andy Enfield trying to return to the area he grew up and get the MARYD job. Andy Enfield: The current head coach of USC, Enfield is already a popular name nationally in connection to the Terps head coach job. The Trojans quickly leaked the news he signed a contract extension with increased buyout last year shortly after Mark Turgeon departed. Enfield had a great run at Florida Gulf Coast and in rebuilding a messy USC program while getting little interest from the fanbase even when ranked. The sunny metro Los Angeles region may be appealing,… Read more »
I know Endfield does not go as low as The Cat on the comparison of BB vs FB coaches, but beyond that I don’t know who he is most like. Would I miss him like Robo2 or Hacket if he left?
Enfield is the coach that does the least with the most. For some reason his teams do not get much better throughout the season, in fact they seem to become stagnant as the seasons progress. Is that the coaches fault or is it the players fault.
Basketball was Bohn’s sport he played in college. I would trust him finding the right replacement HC if Enfield leaves the USC program. Enfield is a very good recruiter and that is probably his best skill running a program. I really don’t see “detail coaching” in his previous/present team performances. Like football, I would hope Bohn would develop the USC basketball program to where it became a destination job rather than a stepping stone one.
Bohn was actually a heckuva athlete: he was a three-sport star at Boulder HS (’79). At KU, Bohn was a QB for the Jayhawks in 1982, and was also played baseball (pitcher, 1st base, OF) for the Buffaloes ’82 and ’83.
Enfield had great free throw shooting skills as a player but hasn’t been able to teach his players. He’s really only had one good season, last year, never won the conference. The program is okay winning 60%. I would think Bohn could do better but if he just gave him a big extension he must want to keep him.
Maybe Enfield’s leveled out. I don’t think he’ll ever lead USC to championships, but let’s face it. We USC fans have never demanded much from USC basketball. There was really never a point in it since USC hoops has always been in UCLA’s or ARIZ’s shadow, and has never been consistently a “winner” from my vantage. Just right down the middle, while occasionally good.
Imagine if USC swung for the fences and Bohn brought in an LR equivalent to coach in Galen? Now, that would be something.
Just watched an interview with Coach Ed O on Dan Patrick’s show which is in LA this week. Man, I miss his personality and enthusiasm. I sure wish he was part of the program somehow. He had some great recruiting stories and is still fond of his time at SC. Dan asked him who would win between his best USC teams, 03 and 04, and his 2019 LSU team, and he just said it would be a tight game. Dan also played a spot on Mark Sanchez Ed O impersonation for him, and he loved it. I just love that… Read more »
I don’t believe Ed O would ever work for UCLA, though obviously Choc Chip Kelly loves USC’s failed assts like Drevno, Clancy, et al. But I just can’t see Ed O ever being that desperate.
I wasn’t aware new NFL HOFamer Tony Boselli was such a staunch, committed Jax Jaguar. He was actually the Jags first-ever draft pick and second overall name to come off the board in the ’95 Draft: “Tony has also represented the Jaguars with class since the day he arrived. Beyond his exceptional on-field performance, since retirement he has been an integral member of the Jaguars family while calling Jacksonville home for more than 25 years,” Jaguars owner Shad Khan said. “No one understands, defends, supports or loves the Jaguars and Duval like Tony Boselli. I think I speak for everyone… Read more »

247 ranks Lincoln Riley the #4 best coach in college football behind Saban, Smart, and Swinney. Not bad company to be in.
Kiffen got his brother to come on staff, and he stayed for a month, and is now going back to the nfl. I am sure there is a good story there somewhere.

I think Ed O could coach any position group on the field, and I would love to see him on staff again at USC. Not sure if he would come back though.
