The Heisman-winning QB who is shooting for #2 says he prefers Dr Pepper Strawberries & Cream and is seen getting a maroon and white “I Heart Dr Pepper” polish manicure. Now that Sam Darnold has pushed Trey Lance (the third-overall pick of the 2021 Draft) to the Dallas Cowboys, maybe his next move is to replace Brock Purdy as the starter for the 49ers.
Darnold will definitely play after Purdy during Friday’s preseason finale against the Chargers, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
What did the Niners give up to acquire Lance in the first place? They traded their first-round picks in 2021, 2022 and 2023 plus a 2022 third-rounder to the Miami Dolphins for that third 2021 pick.

Offense will be slightly better as I believe Lloyd is more explosive than any back we’ve had in a long time. Caleb will be the best player in football again.
no comparison on D. Deeper and better at every position group. Only Tuli is better than any replacement. Maybe Blackmon as well. We will be better at 9 spots either by new players or maturity. Easy call there.

I’ve been checking out ESPN today. Caleb Williams wins the Herbie for Most Exciting Player, and odds on favorite to win a 2nd Heisman. Notre Dame has a 7% probability to beat USC. The Pac12 is loaded with very good QBs (ND too). Do they have the players around them to have the offense?
The Pac team that worries me the most is UW. Fortunately, we get the Huskies in the Coliseum.
The location that worries me the most is Eugene. That’s saying a lot since we play in South Bend this season. But Eugene has been pretty well protected by the overtly hostile Ducks, who are talented again this year.
I get the impression that Nov. 11 is gonna be a national holiday in Oregon. Can’t miss football for sure.

Wasn’t it Woody Allen who said that, or did he just take credit for it? It seems like he’s had good reason to be paranoid for a long time now.
The defensive call was the toughest. The DBs will get some picks but otherwise go unnoticed unless burned. The guys in the middle, also largely unnoticed but will create opportunities for the outside guys to make big plays. That leaves Tackett Curtis to have lots of opportunities to make plays on the weak side.
The Oregon game will make or break the playoffs and possibly making the conference championship game. It will be hugely stressful for me cause I will likely watch it with a bunch of family who are Ducks. A big win would be massive!
Living in a family filled with Ducks must have been challenging since the NCAA took down USC and Reggie.
Sometimes they like to pretend like they’ve been winning and dominating USC for 50 years, but maybe that’s just based on my interactions. JMHO.
