Stanford/USC Over 65.5 for 500
The contest closes to new contestants on Friday September 13, 2024 at noon P.T.
All Week 1 wagers are due at that time as well.
This Post will be updated throughout the week.
Contest Rules
Please remember, this is supposed to be about fun and Trojan camaraderie.
There are no entry fees.
Every participant will receive 20,000 betting units.
You must bet a minimum of 1 game and 1,000 units each week. If you forget or choose not to make a wager during any week during the season, 1,000 units will be deducted from your account. If you miss 3 weeks of betting, you will be removed from the game.
There will be a limited number of games for you to choose from each week.
The contest ends after the last game played on December 7, 2024.
I will post the point spread for each week’s games on each Monday.
All wagers must be received by Friday at noon PT, if there is a Thursday game then the wager must be received by Thursday noon PT. (Exact date will posted weekly)
Wagers must be posted on the TDB (preferred) or they can be emailed to: john@trojandailyblog.com.
I will review each wager to make sure that it was correctly placed. I will then respond to your entries to let you know that they have been accepted by liking your wager comment.
If you do not see your wager acknowledgement please contact me as soon as possible by posting a comment on the blog prior to the first game you have wagered on.
If a game is cancelled or moved to another date, then that game will not be counted as a wager (no action).
Winning wagers will be paid as ‘even money’, for example; if you bet 1,000 units, you will win 1,000 units.
The winner will be determined by who has the most betting units in their account at the end of the contest.
I will keep track of everyone’s account and this accounting will be posted on TDB on Monday of each week of the contest. Please review my figures. If you think that a mistake has been made you must contact me by 9pm on the Monday that the results were posted, otherwise these numbers will be considered official.
First Prize is: 150.00
Second Prize is: 75.00
Third Prize is: 25.00
If two people end up in first place, then the first and second prize will be added together and that amount will be split between the two winners.
I will handle all disputes and my decision will be final.
Anyone can be removed from the contest for exhibiting poor sportsmanship, as determined by me.
By making wagers on the games you acknowledge you agree to these rules.

I hope we don’t lose all these great defensive coaches after 2024.Many times when you have a really good season, the rest of the world comes hard for all your coaches.
Coaching attrition is always something good coaches have to eventually deal with. Look at Dabo Swinney. He managed to keep guys like Brent Venables around as his loyal DC for many years and he won two NCs in the process and elevated CLEM to sudden top-level status as a program. He lost Venables to OU and now Dabo isn’t even remotely competitive with elite programs like GA which just wiped him out 34-3. He’s got a bad NIL philosophy, no doubt, but losing excellent assistants because of his success is also a big issue for his program now. That’s what… Read more »
It will have to be a head coaching job for him to leave. I don’t think that he will leave for another DC job. If he leaves I hope he doesn’t take all of our great position coaches with him. But if we can really build a great defense in the next 2 years, there will be a lot of great DC’s willing to come to SC. Who knows….maybe Dave Aranda will be available. I’m not sure that he’s getting the results that they want at Baylor and he is a socal boy.
Sam Darnold (19/24/2/1) and the Vikings beat the NY Giants 28-6 in East Rutherford.
Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears have beaten Tennessee 24-17 after being down 17-0.
The Bears gained less than 150 total yds as the D carried the load. No offensive TDs scored by Bears. Only the 4th time in the common draft era that a #1 draft pick has won a season opener in his debut.
We had better watch out. After all, wasn’t it the ‘Pig Farmer’ who declared himself the Trojan Killer after last years game?
It’s a long ways from Salt Lake City to Logan. Utah State ain’t Utah.
Speaking of the “State schools”, I loved hearing that IOWA ST had taken down IOWA 20-19 in Iowa City.
I’m going to watch some of the Texas-Michigan game to see how the wolverines play against a passing team like us. Texas is favored. Unless they screw up, they should handle Michigan who seems to have offensive issues. I also read Fresno St. could pass on them some.
MICH lost something like 18 of 22 starters and Harbaugh’s now a Charger.
TEXAS has a lot more talent and Sark’s a good play caller. TEXAS all the way.
But these early season games are so filled with non-gelled teams with questions and intrigue that a lot of us are like, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
The CFB season is off to a great start and tomorrow’s TEXAS/MICH game is a spectacle I wouldn’t miss.
The largest stadium in the US is going to be shaking….every seat taken……and it’s going to be chilly, about 57 degrees at kickoff warming up to 59 by 3 pm for this time of year. A brisk midwest day with a NNW wind of 13 to 14 mph. The field ought to be dry. I watched the Fresno St game……who knows what the Mich coaches were doing on defense. They pulled their first team corners for a good portion of the game. The Mich QB’s looked very accurate for short to intermediate but the few long passes looked horrible. If… Read more »
Unfortunately Suck’s Texas team is too loaded … Michigan can’t score
Suck’s talent will overcome his shitty play calling and win 27-10 or so.
LR will learn from this game.
I agree
USC -28.5 for 1000
John, This is in addition to the bet earlier, just to be clear.
Understand. You now have two wagers total.
USC -28.5 for 1000
Texas/Michigan over 44.5 for 1000
Iowa -2.5 for 500
I vote that we don’t report any results from these rounds until Rock2112 somehow gets our of last place!
Rock,
USC start time will be at 11 pm EST in Indy with the game going til 2:30 am……but now you’ve given me another reason to skip church in the morning and make it a 3 beer night. Does Rock escape the Cellar! LOL.
Hopefully they score 29 in the first half so I can get some sleep.
Thought we were done with this crap w/ Big 10
Its frustrating.
Michigan told Big 10 F U … no home games on Friday if at all and we play in the afternoon
The Rutgers game is a Friday at 8. The Nebraska game could be at 8 as well. Sucks.
Just want to see USC the lone major recipient or victim in these Friday night battles. I want to see everyone in the Big be in on this fun (sic).
Rock you may not get out of last place but you may be playing with house money next week. I like that bet, think I’ll take it myself.

USC -28.5 for 3000

Nebraska -7.5 for 2000
USC -28.5 for 3000
Texas/Michigan under 44.5 for 3000
Utah St/USC game total under 62.5 for 1000.
Nebraska -7.5 for 1,000. CO is not very good. It appears NE might be. The SC point spread is too large for me given that LR will probably play a lot of reserves and will not show much for MI to put on tape. I have no idea about any of the other teams.
LR has to keep momentum … SC has a bye week before Michigan, LR may design a different O that week
USC -28.5 for 5000
Iowa -2.5 for 2500
Nebraska -7.5 for.2500
San Diego State +4.5 for 1000
Utah State lost their running back (announced today) so if the same team we saw Sunday night shows up…
Nebraska -7.5 for 1000
USC -28.5 for 5000
Tried my strategy of staying away from SC. I feel a shift in the universe. Week Two bet …
SC -28.5 for 5,000 smackeroos!!!
Atta boy!
Ah, sitting at the bottom of the heap again. Feels like home!
