Jordan Addison is a slam-dunk late-first-round pick per most Draft projections
Addison is seeking to become USC’s 84th first-round Draft selection on Thursday, April 27.
The 2008 USC class produced the most first-rounders overall, with four. Only the 1968 class had more, with five first-rounders (including four picks in the top 16).
Addison intends to bring his mom, dad, and two brothers with him to the Draft. “It’s just an accomplishment for all of us, not just me.”

Our D line was clearly a weakness last year, so LR a d staff go get Bear, Kyon, Sullivan, Lucas, and Muhammad. All 5 will be starters or log heavy snaps. Throw in a few guys who had pretty good seasons last year and now that room looks like a position of strength.
This is a huge get. Bear would have played major minutes for Georgia this year. There may still be naysayers among us, but I believe SC’s front 7 will be greatly improved.
Now let’s grab a few more O-Linemen, and we are good to go.
Pac-12 Draft Projections (26 total) by The Athletic’s Dane Brugler USC (4) 1 (25 Giants): Jordan Addison, WR 3 (85 Chargers): Tuli Tuipulotu, Edge 6 (188 Texans): Andrew Vorhees, G 7 (231 Raiders): Mekhi Blackmon, CB ARIZ none ASU (1) 7 (220 Raiders): Nesta Jade Silvera, DT CAL (1) 6 (200 Chargers): Daniel Scott, S CU none ORE (6) 1 (6 Lions): Christian Gonzalez, CB 5 (171 Rams): Noah Sewell, LB, 5 (172 Giants): DJ Johnson, Edge 6 (192 Patriots): Alex Forsyth, C 7 (239 Chargers): T.J. Remember this guy’s sour look? How bad can you get? When still in control of the P12, Larry Scott, who started the total downfall of the conference, instructed P12 higher-ups who have since been terminated (probably wrongfully) to keep quiet about Comcast overpayments totaling at least $50 mil over a decade. And we thought do-nothing Tom Hansen was bad. These are darkly uncertain times for the soon-to-be Pac-10 which is still hanging with no media rights deal because George Kliavkoff can’t get a decent number. The NCAA Tourneys were a big bust in both men’s and women’s basketball. No conference teams… Read more »
And yet there nay-sayers grumbling about plane travel to competition with Big Ten schools closer to the mid-east & East coast and how USC should have stayed with e the PAC. Athletes in all sports will clamber to come to USC and “suffer” the flying elements knowing they will get noticed across the country and be better off for it.
There are always naysayers to everything. The world has changed and I’m glad USC changed right along with it. Gonna be fun to see the Trojans adapt to and in some respects lead the changing face of CFB. ✌
Don’t the players fly on charters? The seats are first class or probably at least middle seat empty, right? It isn’t like us plebeians needing to suffer in the middle seat between two large, fatty karens on a L A to N Y flight….
I know nothing of how USC travels, but I know how U of HI travels. My company’s HQ is in Honolulu, so I’ve been going back forth over 70 times in the past decade. One of my return Thursday afternoon flights on Hawaiian Airlines had the football team on it. This was during the Norm Chow HC era. He and some other staff sat in first class, but the team was in the main cabin from front to back. The look of misery on the faces of the players who weren’t sleeping was rampant. I’m not suggesting that flying in… Read more »
I think the concerns about travel are over-rated. At least I sure hope so. And whatever the noticeable travel negatives actually turn out to be, they are unavoidable to some degree — unless USC always wanted to be burdened by the much less profitable and desirable Pac-12’s funding, exposure, competitiveness, and opportunities. Times change, and I’m optimistic that USC has taken the best road possible to ensure its ability to dominate in CFB going forward. Imagine if USC had been left behind in the beleaguered Pac-12 while schools like ORE and UW, or ASU and ARIZ took the lead (however… Read more »
If true, it shows Scott’s total lack of personal integrity. The only reason to suppress it (I am assuming he found out about it after it was caught and stopped AND not while it was going on) was to keep his job. George has a huge mess on this hands. His worst nightmare is for SC and UCLA football to dominate the league, having both of them finish #1-#2 in the league and playing the league championship game. I read a rumor that ESPN is offering $90 million over 10 years and not budging. If true, I do not see… Read more »
2024 McKinney, TX RB Bryan Jackson (6-1, 225) commits to USC over ALA, ND, GA, OU, UTAH (offered in June, 2020), TEXAS, OHIO ST, TENN et al (over 30 offers). This competitive dude is extremely tough to bring down!
It seems that for the first time in a long time it looks like USC is stocking its shelves with valuable recruits. Not just for the coming season, but the future. I never understood the recruiting philosophy of the Cat. We didn’t restock in areas of need and then didn’t give reserves players any time to get game experience. Things are getting better.
As The Cat’s long, dark shadow falls further and further from the McKay Center, it’s more apparent that USC’s chances were always hopeless under his lame stewardship. It’s like USC football was in a coma. As soon as The Cat split to immediately lead GS to yet another losing record, USC under Lincoln Riley goes from four wins to 11 and beats UCLA and ND. Now The Cat makes $800,000 a year while LR makes over $10 mil a year to clean up his brutal mess. It finally took a 42-28 beatdown from a hapless 3-9 STAN team to force… Read more »
If LR doesn’t come to USC in 2022, I don’t think Caleb Williams would have come and won a Heisman. Why Haden promoted the Cat to Interim and then permanent HC, and then Swann extended him, will always be a thorn in my side. Both Haden and Swann were great players for USC and in the NFL but were horrible Athletic Directors. To me, the Cat was a nice guy who was in way over his head at USC. I wish him well at Georgia Southern. Same to Harrell wherever he is now.
With the freshmen we have right now Jackson is going to have to find a niche to be able to get some PT. He might be the short yardage guy, like 3rd and 3 at the 3 yard line. Anyway it is great to finally have a commit. Wow, we are now all the way up to two. C’mon Riley!!

USC’s phenomenal Portal recruiting under LR has been a sight to see.
Like you, I think USC’s front seven has been officially “greatly improved” since the days of the Cotton Bowl collapse.
I have no doubt a new OL or two are also on the way.
#1 Transfer Portal DT Bear Alexander (6-3, 305) has announced that he is transferring to USC.
It will definitely make the DL more bearable.
To say the least! 😄 Especially with three years of eligibility for the soph.
If Bear Alexander doesn’t announce for USC tonight, it’ll be the recruiting misread of the century.

Amazing Stat of the Day
A sellout crowd of 47,277 weathered a cold, snowy afternoon for Deion Sanders’ CU coaching debut today in the Black & Gold spring game.
The STAN spring game was basically deserted. I’m thinking even “Primetime” couldn’t get Cardinal fans in the seats had he landed there.

The Brandon of conference commissioners?
New USC RB commit Bryan Jackson looks like he’ll be a Lendale White-like load
https://youtu.be/ZAzKZuFjnuQ
Lower body’s larger than anyone else’s on the field. He can move a pile.
If Bryan is anything like Lendale, we will have a great running game to go with the passing game.
