For a team with playoff aspirations, this schedule sets up nicely. The first 6 should be expected wins. Then 2 tough games then a breather before the last tough 3. Toughest games in order, #1 Oregon, #2 ND, #3 Utah, #4 Washington, #5 UCLA. 3 of the 5 are at home. All are winnable. A week off before Pac12 CCG is also a plus. Should be fun. 5 weeks and 5 days to game day!
Tennessee attorney general threatened NCAA with state law before Jeremy Pruitt verdict, records show
Tennessee attorney general Jonathan Skrmetti (below) threatened legal action against the NCAA as bowl ban penalty loomed for recruiting violations committed under former Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt.

The SEC sticks together and get a lot of support from their states.
USC in the Bush infraction got zero support from the PAC12 and CA.
The Bush infraction is a very minor issue considering what is going on
today.
The SEC Just Cares More
That’s their slogan, and it’s pretty hard to dispute.
usc50, It was a minor infraction compared to what was going on THEN. Miami, whose AD was the moving force behind slamming SC, was MUCH worse (and nothing happened to Miami). My guess is every SEC team was intentionally engaging in payola with the express knowledge of the coaching staff (the allegations against the coach at SC for knowingly allowing this was shown to be totally bogus and the NCAA paid low seven figures to make that case go away.) SC should have threatened to sue right after Ohio State was tagged with the same conduct and got off with… Read more »
The ncaa are bullies and you need to stand up to bullies to keep them from hurting people. President max the crooked Greek would not stand up to the ncaa bullies.
ncaa doesn’t want to spend a lot on legal costs after what they have gone through the last 10 years and what is pending in the courts right now.

Transfers are playing such a huge roll for us this year.
I count three (3) from the Helton era (Dedich, Monheim and Jaylin Smith). Helton’s kids would be redshirt sophomores, juniors and seniors. Quite a roster remake in two years. Also quite a comment on the what a mess SC football was when LR arrived. This has to be one of the largest two year talent upgrades in collegiate football history. Thank God for the Transfer Portal!
I hope they do this at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see who is on top besides CW. I am interested to see where Domani and Zach Branch end up.
Caleb is sure a polished young man. So far his positive press far outweighs any negative. He does charity appearances and shows appreciation for his teammates. He’s humble but has boast worthy accomplishments. I could easily see him in Hollywood after football.
Will be very interesting to watch Hollywood deal with the writers/actors strike, now intensely in full swing.
Fran Dresher yelling at everyone is…fun, I guess.
Here we are talking about Hollywood actors strike? Please, hurry up and get the season started. 🤣✌️
Fran Drescher vs Bob Iger. Cage match!
CW’s NFL career could be amazing … almost trend setting. If he gets on the right team, of course.
The problem for these #1 QBs is always how do they get on the “right team”, when the NFL’s worst teams always get to draft them?
Go Elway lol … that worked
Allen, do you think anyone will make unprecedented trades of players and future draft picks to get the shot at getting Caleb? The predraft days are going to be very exciting.
I do. Caleb’s gonna bring more publicity to USC than any other player since you know who.
I am seeing that whoever ends up with the number one pick will get some offers that have never been thought of before. Look for a bunch of #1s and #2s with probably a wad of cash for that first pick. But then again, are we sure Caleb will go? What if they win the NC and he wins a 2nd Heisman. Would the idea of coming back for one more season be possible? Would he want to be the first and only winner of 3 Heismans? With the NIL involved for a person of that stature it could be… Read more »
Tennessee Football Avoids Bowl Ban, Fined $8M After Committing 18 Level I Violations BleacherReport.com — The TENN football program avoided a bowl ban stemming from an investigation into numerous NCAA violations that unfolded during the tenure of former head coach Jeremy Pruitt. “Current NCAA rules and penalty guidelines require a one- or two-year postseason ban for a Level I-standard case,” the NCAA said Friday. “However, in January 2022, NCAA members adopted a new constitution that states divisional regulations should ensure ‘to the greatest extent possible that penalties imposed for infractions do not punish programs or student-athletes not involved nor implicated in… Read more »
As with our US Dept. Of JustUs, the NCAA applies its penalties unequally. If this was USC, we would be giving up post-season appearances for 10 years….
I venture to say the days of the ncaa singling out USC are over with them going into the B1G. I am sure the east coast bias will diminish also, at least to a degree.
This years media day marks the beginning of the end for USC in the Pac.
Yes, ironic. Last year Riley said Follow, this year he says Good Bye.
Damn auto complete
How TV Times Have Changed O.J.’s famous 64-yder against UCLA in 1967 (“the most famous run in college football history” per the USC Media Guide), giving the Trojans a 21-20 win (with the extra point) over #1 ranked UCLA was a wonderful thing to see. I actually remember watching it live on TV, when I was 15 years old. “That’s all she wrote,” ABC-TV analyst Bud Wilkinson proclaimed. “I don’t recall seeing anyone that could turn it on like this boy, Chris (Schenkel)…” Some suggest UCLA football never recovered. Works for me. Back then, only eight national TV games were… Read more »
Who is the full back? He nailed his block big time!
Dan Scott, 5-10 207, Pico Rivera (El Rancho/Cerritos JC)
What is funny the left guard said (Steve Lehmer ?)he missed the audible and stepped back into pass protection.
I realized just now how Saturday TV changed. At the time of OJ’s run. Saturday mornings were used for advertising for sugar cereal. I remember watching replays of USC football because they couldn’t be on live TV. Saturday sports on TV were Bowling, Roller Derby and Golf. I’m glad we will not be on the PAC12 channel in the future.
My saturday favorite show was ABC’s Wide World of Sports.
Mine, too. The “thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.”
I remember that game, which I also watched on TV. Still remember that run.
That 1967 UCLA game was the first SC game I saw live in the Coliseum. My Dad, Great Uncle and Great Aunt and I attended the game in my Grandmother’s 4 season seats located at Tunnel 22, Row 44, seats 1-4. Those seats split the 50 yard line and were roughly half way up (row wise) the Coliseum just behind the USC Student Section. The first highlight that happened right in front of us was Pat Cashman’s pick six interception of a Gary Beban pass. The second was OJ’s 64 yard run. I was 12 years old and still have… Read more »
Caleb certainly made the correct choice to transfer to SC! Quite a year for a sophomore. Wonder what he will do for an encore. If he stays healthy, he could establish himself as the greatest SC QB of all time. He is certainly the best QB I have seen at SC. As an aside, I think we are all waiting on the Pac Media day. I just read that ESPN is seeking a partner take the platform to streaming. I think Larry Scott is available! Seriously, this development is a solid reason for the PAC not to sign a media… Read more »
