USC Women Clinch Another P12 T/F Championship!

The Trojan women will beat Oregon today for the second year in a row to again capture the Pac-12 track and field outdoor championship. Finishing 1,2,3 in the 200m gives the women an insurmountable lead over the Ducks, 136-114.

The only event that remains to be run is the 4X400 relay.

Update  —  USC’s women won the 4X400 in 3:29:33 over ORE (3:31.85), ASU (3:32.13), CU (3:34.82) and STAN (3:40.04)

Final Women’s Standings  —  1. USC (154) 2. ORE (137) 3. CU (92) 4. STAN 85) and UW (73.5).

Commentator —  “It’s the culture that Caryl Smith Gilbert has established at USC. You hear it not only from the juniors and seniors, but also from the freshmen and sophomores that you hear from after these events. It’s about the team environment, the team atmosphere, the desire of excellence that they have on an individual basis and how you can lift each other up collectively. Now USC has put together their own miniature streak of two straight conference titles. Based on everything we saw here, and their talent, you feel like it won’t be coming to an end anytime soon.”

Cross our fingers and hope the administration doesn’t do something to screw up this program Caryl Smith Gilbert has built piece by piece and now is a dangerous player in the NCAA national championships. Give Caryl what she wants dammit, she built this program from mediocrity to really something good!
