USC Trojans This & That — 7/12

Junior TE Josh Falo (6-6, 230, Sacramento Inderkum).  Born in Hawaii, Falo has 14 career catches for 223 yds (15.9 avg)/two TDs. Falo has started three times in 22 appearances, and shown flashes of excellence. He caught a 30-yard TD against ORE ST on his first career reception, added two catches for 20 yds, with a 1-yd TD, against UTAH, and had a game-clinching 15-yd fourth-down reception late in the 2017 31-26 Pac-12 Championship game win against STAN to pick up a first down.

oh man. My kid may end up going to UCLA next year, just got a scholarship offer and she’s pretty excited about it. Won’t lie, I’m excited about not having to fork out life savings or for her to be in huge student debt to put her through school. She may end up elsewhere, but this just got real

Every high school kid I have ever taught who had a shot at a scholarship I have told the same thing. “Take the scholarship when you finish you will have a degree and that’s the goal of the school. You can still root for your favorite team, just do it outside of class. And good luck. “

Interesting take on other boards. On Ryan’s board, Dan Weber is following the same line as Allen – optimistic. Dan really likes what he is seeing. On the late Gary P’s board (247), Greg Katz is predicting a 2-4 start with 0-3 in league. Exact opposites. And, I think that is where we will stay – totally in the dark – until we see the 2019 team perform.
