Did Clay have cue cards in his hands or was there a teleprompter on the wall he was facing when he said these words. Wait…. hasn’t he said these similar words before in a previous year or two? Maybe he has memorized them by now.

I think he is learning to shut up. He dug himself a huge hole in 2018. NOTHING he says will allow him to recover. It is best if he says as little as possible to the press and let’s the team’s performance speak for itself. I think he has realized that if he loses the SC gig, his career will match the present career of Neil Calloway and Ronnie Bradford.

So the obvious question is; why did it take so long to diagnose this glaring hole in training? Watching the linemen being pushed around the past few years was chalked up to poor footwork. Watching errant snaps from center was chalked up to poor positioning of the quarterback. All of this time it was out of shape players? Atlas would make a terrible lineman if he doesn’t understand the blocking scheme. Strength will help, but coaching has to improve from the bottom up.
