I’m happy for UC Irvine, and will continue rooting for them. It just kills me that Baseball with Gillespie, and now Basketball, are fielding better programs with less resources and tradition, than we have. Guess I’m just jealous

How about the UC Irvine Anteaters? I’ve been a huge Anteaters fan since the Bill Mulligan/Kevin Magee days.

I think they are going to beat either Oregon or Wisconsin. They didn’t even play all that well today, but they are fearless. Any team that can knock down free throws like that is not afraid in the clutch.

The Trojans remind me of a golfer who can’t make a putt.

The LA schools, but namely USC is close to losing its ability to keep the best California recruits close to home. You look at where the top players signed this last NSD and it is obvious Helton didn’t do what was necessary to protect the USC turf as now all the major programs came in and got what should have been USC signees. Instead we got 2 & 3 star player leftovers. Helton can’t hire the best position coaches, he is losing more top California recruits as the years pass by. Think 5-7 has anything to do with it? Think an O line that cannot perform had anything to do with it. Or how about an offense that only worked for one half. Then there is the defense that went south every week.
