USC To Open August 17!

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — USC has announced that in-person classes will resume on Aug. 17, one week earlier than originally scheduled, according to USC Annenberg Media.

The school also announced all final exams will end by Thanksgiving “to minimize the effects flu season may have on the spread of the coronavirus.”

Almost every in-person class will also be conducted online. Residence halls and dining facilities will be modified, and “robust testing and contract tracing” will be put into place.

Face covering and physical distancing will be required while on campus.

There will be no fall break.

You are as good as those you are associated with…. today, USC is satisfied being in the PAC-12 as it leads it to be. Who is inspiring the administration to push its football program back to greatness when going halfway is enough to satisfy your conference? First of all, why did USC go equal revenue share with the other 11-member schools when it is the flagship of the conference bringing influence and prestige to the whole West Coast? Good news and a step in the right direction, IMO. While I agree that social distancing is a good thing, the requirement that students wear face masks at all times while on campus seems a bit extreme. The masks have been shown to hold in bacteria as much as prevent it from coming through. Also, enforcement might be a nightmare. However, anything to get things going and starting up the football season as scheduled is great.
