Like others here on the board, I was also getting upset at the events as they unfolded, yet that late first half TD did not dissuade me from returning for that 2nd half. Oh, my, was that the most entertaining second half of football in history?
Never saw any game more exciting, although that fog-bound Rose Bowl game a decade earlier against Wisconsin was not bad.
And then came the Pete Carroll teams.

Possibly the most exciting football plays I have ever witnessed in person– AD’s kickoff return to start the 2nd half avalanche in 1974 and the two kickoff returns in 1972.

The win over Notre Dame, when AD went crazy, was one of the most satisfying wins by any Trojan team, and another sports team I have rooted for. From feeling way down, to total euphoria in such a short time was exhilarating.

I loved his games saw one ND in person and the other one on TV. Basically where I got my attitude about not giving up on the Trojans. I wanted to leave at halftime but my dad said hang in there we aint done yet.
The rest is history.
