Wow. It just dawned on me. The Chiefs never even scored a TD. The biggest Mahomes flopperoo in his lifetime by a mile. Sooner or later, everyone proves to be completely mortal (even though Mahomes made a couple of impossibly perfect throws that hit Chiefs’ WRs in the facemask).
And yet Allen, I read 2 summaries this morning that never even mentioned the Tampa Defense. And those writers get paid for their “in-depth” coverage. Sounds like they attended the same writing skills classes as Little Snarky Scotty Wolf. 😕
It was just an all-around whooping by the Bucs, who skated easily in after they closed out with another, backbreaking TD late in the 2nd Q, when Andy Reid and his penalty-ridden team busted apart.
It’s the Chiefs, the Packers, the Bucs, the Ravens, the Bills, and the Rams who are favored to win the 2022 Super Bowl, which I think is in L.A. Who would have ever thought the Bucs would have just won it all at this time last year? Not a soul.
Basically, Tampa Bay just pounded the Chiefs, on both sides of the ball, and Mahomes was running for his life, trying to complete miraculous on-the-run passes from 20 yds behind the LOS. I was pulling hardcore for Brady because I started to enjoy how he left Belichick and the Patriots in the total dust as the season went on. It was an astounding example of the effect one single man can have on a team’s culture and performance, even if he’s not the HC. Brady’s the GOAT. Seven Super Bowl wins. Crazy. Glad to see Rojo play hard and get some good yds, even though he missed out… Read more »
Great week for Todd McNair. First there is the acceptance of his appeal, then a Super Bowl victory as Bucs running backs coach. Couldn’t be happier for a guy who was collateral damage
I sure am pulling for McNair. Man, has he been through the everlasting mill.
He took on THE MAN, and THE MAN (with those dark Cool Hand Luke glasses) won — or so it seemed. Now McNair’s got the NCAA where he wants them, right between his crosshairs.
One could also say that every dog has his day. Whether it’s about beating City Hall, or McNair finally having his day, he’s looking at a well-deserved and possibly huge, fantastic payday. Sometimes, the little guy wins. I’m hoping this is one of those remarkable times.
Did he at least get a ring for being in a super bowl?
Actually I don’t see him as a fan of anything because real fans don’t do that stuff. Maybe he wanted to be part of the halftime show. Does anyone remember when college bands provided the halftime show?
Watching the super bowl and KC offense reminds me of USC offense. QB never has time to throw, and all he does is check off and the run game is dismal at best.
I was bummed when Rojo came up short twice at the goal line, especially the second time. So close. But those were 61 well-earned yds. Leonard Fournete ran really well and kept Rojo off the field a lot — but he sure had his chance at a SB TD, just not quite the room he needed to get in.

Good point TT.

Wow. Fan on the field.

What does this Super Bowl prove? Nobody knows nothing. Except you get blow-outs in the Super Bowl every once in awhile.
2 things
Watching the super bowl and KC offense reminds me of USC offense. QB never has time to throw, and all he does is check off and the run game is dismal at best.
Some of the throws he is getting off though are unreal.
I’m pulling for Ronald Jones to rush for 60-plus yds and score a TD. Bucs/Brady win 31-27.
You weren’t far off. RoJo ended up with 61 yards. He missed a TD by about 1/2 a yard.
I was bummed when Rojo came up short twice at the goal line, especially the second time. So close. But those were 61 well-earned yds. Leonard Fournete ran really well and kept Rojo off the field a lot — but he sure had his chance at a SB TD, just not quite the room he needed to get in.
I am taking the Bucs, they will create one extra turnover. Brady leads game winning drive for last second field goal.
Tampa 31- KC 30
Unless KC starts playing better there will be no need for a comeback.
