It is sad that Bubba Bolton is going to come to Florida.

I heard Keyshawn Johnson interview Paul Finebaum this morning. Paul says Lynn Swann is incompetent as an AD, He should have fired Clay Helton. Clay Helton is a lame duck for a head coach. He said if USC hires an OC, he will only be there for a year, because CH is a lame duck, or be the next head coach after a year. As long as Helton stays as the head coach USC is dead.

You should add an option to number 7 that “I am not shocked by anything bad that happens with USC football right now — I actually expect it.”

This is a repeat of the post I just put on Garry’s site: Well, that’s the way resume-climbers (aka college and pro football coaches) roll. Personally if that’s who he is I’m glad Kingsbury rolled on outa here. I’m not a vindictive person but I kind of hope he gets his ass handed to him in Arizona. He may be on offensive genius, but he hasn’t exactly paid his dues. I still think SC has enough talent that 2019 does not have to be a disaster. We’re kind of playing with house money; if the Trojans have a good year… Read more »

I feel the same way. We don’t need a one year rental, even if he is a great offensive mind. We need someone who will stay for the long haul. Someone who wants to stay. Someone who wants to bring USC back to the tippy top.

I think Jalen Hurts would be best served if he stayed at Bama. He’s going to be in the NFL but not as a QB. If he wants to come to SC as a running back, I’m all for it. He’s a tough runner. But in the NFL, unless you’re super elusive like Lamar Jackson, you have to be able to pass to win games.

This reminded me of Rick Majerus in 04 was SC’s BB coach for 5 days. Resigned for either health or at the request of his Mom.

KK has Rosen to work with, and he always gets hurt. What does AZ have for a backup. Even the coach can’t fix that real fast. AZ is a graveyard, KK made a bad choice, but he will learn. If after failing as HC at AZ where does he go? Western Kentucky

That division is rough too. KK will finish dead last next year with an injured Rosen pouting on the bench.

It’s just such a stupid hire from an AZ standpoint. You don’t bring in a failed college coach to coach your NFL team, no matter what system he runs. He has certainly demonstrated his competence as an OC. But a HC is responsible for the entire thing working — not just one side of the ball. That’s why TT fired KK. They’re not stupid — they want to WIN! KK was tasked with putting in place a defense that would mesh with his offensive system, but instead his offense taxed his defense. I remain convinced that the same would’ve happened… Read more »

Once I found out that the buyout was $150K it told me everything I needed to know. KK never intended to stay at SC. He needed to be employed so it looked better in order to get other offers. If Swann has no idea this was going to happen he should be fired. We have too many people learning on the job. If Swann did have an idea this could happen then we should have never offered KK and Swann should be fired. The program is a mess and this is being used against SC on the recruiting front. Unless… Read more »

Agree. Swann REALLY got played. The warning signs were everywhere practically from the beginning.

When you base a move like this on a resume climber, you’re asking for big trouble. I wonder if Swann was clueless the whole time. If he hasn’t at least started a behind-the-scenes search, he is not fit for the SC AD job. Period.
