Some in the media have suggested that USC severely underperformed last season because the Trojans had such a big talent advantage over the rest of the Pac-12 and only managed to win the conference during a decidedly down Pac-12 year.
In reality, this year’s draft reveals the NFL wasn’t all that impressed with USC’s talent.
USC only had four players chosen. Good quality, not quantity:
- QB Sam Darnold — Rd 1, #3, New York Jets
- RB Ronald Jones — Rd 2, #38, Tampa Bay Bucs
- LB/DE Uchenna Nwosu — Rd 2, #48, San Diego Chargers
- DL/DE Rasheem Green — Rd 3, #79, Seattle Seahawks
UCLA and Washington led the Pac-12 with five picks each
